Arnedillo

We arrived at lunchtime in Arnedillo and drove straight to the aire. Very good level site with motorhome service point 2 toilets and free wifi. Electricity is extra.

We had a quick look around town after lunch. Several bars and restaurants a supermarket and a wine and vegetable shop. The are is famous for the vultures soaring above the jagged peaks.

Day 2
We decided ona walk along the Via Verde and up in the hills to a sanctuary. Not a very nice walk, hard going up a small river valley to the sanctuary and then on an indistinguishable track on the side of the hill. Not our sort of walking so we backtracked to the VV. A bit of urgent shopping and back to the van to find shade for the afternoon.
Day 3
We decided on a cycle trip today allong the Via Verde that goes from Arnedillo to Callahora. We did not intend to do the whole 33 km especialy as it has a slight slope down towards Callahora, nice to get there but up hill all the way back. The stard ofmthe VV is a 1.4 km tunnel under the town, well lit but cool. The VV is on an old railway bed that is very well maintained. We got to Arnedo and bought some bits for a picnic and headed back.
After a short rest we decided to go to the outdoor thermal baths, these are just built into the river bank and are free. They are fed from the river that comes from a thermal spring at around 43 °C.There are 3 bath fed in series so the upper bath is the hottest. I coukd only stand the middle one. A real experience, especially the cold shower afterwards.
